Mike Dolbear has been a professional drummer for over 25 years and worked in many musical situations with many artists all around the world, he set up his teaching studio 15 years ago during a 10 year stint playing at the prestigious London west end venue The talk of London. Mike wanted to be around for his young family and was given the opportunity to teach a few classes a week at a North London drum school (Talking Drums) and enjoyed the opportunity to pass on the knowledge he had learnt over the years.

Over the years Mike has studied with the great Jazz drummer Kenny Clare, Max Abrams and Bob Armstrong as well as percussion lessons with the great James Blades.

Many of Mike's students have become professional musicians and teachers, including current students Cherisse Osei (Mika), Kapil Travedi (Mystery Jets), Emily Dolan Davies (Bryan Ferry/Cher Lloyd), Mark Richardson (Skunk), Steve Forrest (Placebo), Nic Marangoni (Cats eyes), Gemma Hill (Cee'lo Green) to name a few. Mike was very proud of the show and of all the drummers and to do this in his home town of London was amazing. In 2013 Mike coordinated the 500 drummers for the opening of the UEFA Champions League final at Wembley.

After the olympics Mike started getting known as the guy to do "big mass drumming features" and worked for UEFA to co-ordinate the 500 drummers for the UEFA London champions final at Wembley in 2013. 2014 Mike then had a call from Hans Zimmer to co-ordinate the drum features in Hans first ever solo concerts in London featuring Johnny Marr, Lebo M and Pheriel Williams.
